Dr. DJ Dutton - Family Practice
Dr. DJ Dutton is a Colorado native who grew up in La Junta. He earned his undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Before becoming a physician, he held various jobs, including construction work, high school math teaching, machining, and clinical laboratory science, which ultimately led him to pursue a career in medicine.
For many years before attending medical school, Dr. Dutton worked as a lab technologist at Spanish Peaks Hospital. He then attended the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Aurora, CO, for medical school. His experiences in Walsenburg introduced him to rural family medicine and inspired him to return to that community to practice.
Dr. Dutton is board-certified in Family Medicine, having completed his residency at the Saint Joseph Hospital Family Medicine program in Denver. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, riding motorcycles, and working on home improvement projects.
