Dr. DJ Dutton

Dr. Donald J Dutton

Dr. DJ Dutton is a Colorado native who grew up in La Junta and obtained his undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He worked many other jobs prior to becoming a physician including construction, high school math teacher, machining, and eventually clinical lab science which led him to medicine.

Dr. Dutton worked at Spanish Peaks Hospital as a lab technologist for many years prior to medical school. He attended medical school at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Aurora, CO. His time spent in Walsenburg not only exposed him to rural family medicine but ultimately drew him back to this community to practice.

He obtained his board certification in Family Medicine at the Saint Joseph Hospital Family Medicine program in Denver. He spends most of his free time with his wife and two daughters, riding motorcycles, and working on his home.

Dr. Michael Moll

Dr. Moll is originally from Albuquerque, NM where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology "with distinction" at the University of New Mexico (UNM). He then, along with his wife, Dr. Lori, attended the UNM School of Medicine where they both received their MD degrees in 1989. Dr. Mike Moll was also inducted into the prestigious medical honor society Alpha Omega Alpha. After obtaining his MD degree, Dr. Mike trained in Family Medicine at the UNM Family Medicine Department and was Board Certified in Family Medicine in 1995. Dr. Mike and Lori Moll came to Walsenburg in 1996 and began the Family Medicine Clinic. In addition to maintaining the clinic they also provided coverage for the Emergency Room, hospital and attended to patients at the Colorado State Veteran's Nursing Home. Both Dr. Mike and Dr. Lori have been serving the residents of Huerfano County for over 20 years.

In addition to being Board Certified in Family Medicine, he was awarded a Fellowship of the American Academy of Family Medicine. He is an experienced Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine for the University Of Colorado School Of Medicine and has been awarded the "Walking Stick Award" by the Family Medicine Department for exceptional teaching of medical students. Dr. Mike was appointed by Governor John Hickenlooper to the Colorado State Board of Medical Examiners. Dr. Mike has worked side by side with his wife Dr. Lori Moll for over 20 years. They have 3 children: Sarah, Emily, and Max. He enjoys playing golf, skiing and fishing and says that while he loved New Mexico, he feels much at home in Colorado and expresses his gratitude to the citizens of Huerfano County for allowing him the privilege of being their doctor.

Norma Mower, Physician Assistant

Norma Mower is housed in the Family Clinic in Walsenburg and are currently seeing new patients as well as many of our long-standing patients.

Norma originally came to LaVeta in 1976, from Michigan. She obtained her Registered Nurse License in 1991 and worked as Emergency Room Trauma Coordinator for 12 years at SPRHC. Norma then pursued becoming a Physician Assistant-C at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine in Grand Forks ND and has worked as a PA-C since 2003.

In addition to her skills as a health care provider, she specializes in Bio Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (a method of treatment when people's hormones drop or become unbalanced to ease symptoms). Norma can also provide evaluation and treatment of Opioid Use Disorder patients - Suboxone Treatment.

Marilyn Doster, Nurse Practitioner

Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center is pleased to introduce Marilyn Doster, MSN, RN, PCCN, FNP-BC, FNP-C, ACNPC-AG.

Marilyn's experience includes adult-gerontology acute care and family practice. Her clinical experience prior to her arrival was in the Intermediate Care/Stepdown Unit at SCL- St. Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colorado. Other clinical experience facilities include Good Samaritan Hospital in La Fayette and National Jewish Pulmonary and Cystic Fibrosis Endocrinology in Colorado. The majority of Marilyn's clinical experience has been in Family and Internal Medicine in Northern Colorado. Marilyn is no stranger to Spanish Peaks, as she completed her clinical rotation in Emergency Medicine at our facility as a student.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Colorado Christian University and her master's in nursing AGACNP & FNP from Colorado State University-Pueblo. Her professional affiliations include Sigma Theta Tau International: Iota Pi Chapter, Philippines Nurse Association of Colorado, American Association of Critical Care Nurses, and American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Regina Griego, Nurse Practitioner

Regina obtained a master's degree in nursing with a dual specialty as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), in December of 2009. She earned her BSN and MSN from Colorado State University-Pueblo. She is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

She has spent 14 years practicing as an Advanced Practice Nurse (NP) in a rural family practice clinic, family planning, women's healthcare, and county correctional care. Other nursing experience includes Medical/Surgical, Emergency Room, Cardiac, and Surgery. She worked her way up the career ladder starting as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) at Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center (previously Huerfano County Hospital). Regina has also worked in Acute Rehabilitation, Home Healthcare, Mental Health Services at CMHIP, and Long-Term Care.

As a Primary Care Provider, she has worked extensively in underserved communities and rural health. She prides herself on her strong interpersonal skills, is highly efficient, a team player, loyal, as well as a reliable worker with a strong commitment to patient care. Regina has enjoyed precepting Nursing and Nurse Practitioner Students. She was also the 2016 recipient of the Colorado State Nightingale Award in Leadership.

Erin Helbing, Nurse Practitioner

Erin Helbing, Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, is caring for patients at all Spanish Peaks Clinics, Acute Care Hospital, and the Veterans Community Living Center.

Erin previously served as a Hospitalist, Nurse Practitioner in Georgia, where she established a history of outstanding patient care.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Georgia, followed by her Master of Science, Family Nurse Practitioner from Albany State University. She has excelled throughout her education and career, with extensive experience as an RN in Emergency and ICU settings.




Susan Walker, Nurse Practitioner

Susan is a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner; Board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing from Regis University in 2004. Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner Susan had been a nurse for 28 years primarily caring for adults with cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases.

Susan provides care in both our Walsenburg and our La Veta clinic. Her areas of interest include Women's Health and Lifestyle Management of chronic diseases.

Susan and her husband have been married for 38 years. She has one son, two step-daughters, and 3 grandchildren. On her down time Susan enjoys hiking, singing, spending time with family, and travel. Susan grew up on a farm in western Nebraska and moved to Colorado after college. She and her husband raised their family in metro Denver area, and moved to Spanish Peaks region in 2015.
